Spend after you know where the list sits
Most lists look fine in a spreadsheet. The expensive question is whether the addresses cluster in ZIPs you can actually work — and whether the rows even have enough street + ZIP to look up owners.
Buying phones on a thin or scattered file is how acquisitions teams burn skip-trace budget before the first dial. Ziplytica List Inspector (ZLI) answers that in a few seconds so you spend after you know.
Paste a sample or drop a small CSV. You get:
- Where the density sits by ZIP
- How many rows look ready for phone or email lookup
- A clear next step toward Own the Zip — without creating an account
No skip-trace vendor runs on that page. It is a free front door so you do not burn budget on a file that is thin, scattered, or already contact-complete.

What the report is really telling you
ZIP density is the geography story. If 80% of a “Boston” sheet sits in two ZIPs you do not own, Instant Trace will correctly block those rows — better to learn that for free than after a seat purchase.
Lookup-ready count is the data-quality story. Rows with street + ZIP can move into Instant Trace. Phone-only scraps and incomplete lines need cleanup first. List Inspector surfaces that mix without charging a credit.
When to use it
- Driving-for-dollars sheets with street + ZIP but no phone
- County or auction files you have not cleaned yet
- CRM exports where half the numbers bounce
- A vendor dump you are deciding whether to re-trace
If the export already has fresh phones, you usually skip Instant Trace and use Ziplytica for permits, Firston Sight, and mail instead. List tools that already sold you contacts are doing a different job. (Vendor features and pricing can change — verify critical details with each vendor.)
What List Inspector is not
- Not a nationwide property warehouse
- Not Instant Trace itself — no owner phones are returned on the public page
- Not a substitute for Own the Zip seats when you are ready to import for real
Next step after the report
- Claim the densest ZIPs on Territories
- Open Import list in Command Center
- Instant Trace only the rows missing contacts — 1 credit per hit, misses free, out-of-territory blocked
